The Architecture of a Scattered Mind: Why Your "Overthinking" is Actually a Map

Imagine spreading a handful of river stones across a wooden table. They are jagged, smooth, cool, and heavy. There is no specific order to them—they are just textures and shapes, laid out as they are. Sometimes, your internal world feels exactly like that table: covered in data, thoughts, and possibilities that haven't been sorted into a line yet.

If you are like the clients I sit with, you’ve spent years being told that this way of processing—this need to turn an idea over and over in your hands, to look at it from every angle, to "puzzle out" the complexity—is a problem. You’ve been told it’s "overthinking," "fixation," or "stagnation." You’ve been told to hurry up and find the answer, to skip the steps, to fit the map of your mind into a linear, pre-cut shape.

But what if this isn't a glitch in your operating system? What if your need to map out the puzzle isn't a symptom to be managed, but a sophisticated tool for understanding?

When we pathologize the ADHD brain’s natural navigation style, we teach ourselves to distrust our own internal wisdom. We begin to believe that if a thought doesn't lead to a quick solution, it isn't "productive." In traditional, time-boxed, insurance-driven therapy, the pressure to "perform" wellness—to produce a measurable outcome in 50 minutes—can feel like violence to a nervous system that needs space to unfold.

This is where the value of our private-pay space lives. You aren't paying for "quick tips" or to be "fixed" according to a standard protocol. You are investing in a sanctuary that respects the pace of your nervous system.

In our sessions, I am not the architect of your life. I am not here to give you the "right" map or to rush you toward a conclusion that fits someone else’s mold. I am here to be the witness. I hold the space while you move the pieces, allowing your system to find its own order, without the performance of needing to be "ready" or "linear." We validate the pieces you are holding, we honor the parts of you that have been working so hard to protect you, and we let the clarity emerge—on your timeline, not the clinical one.

Your brain doesn't need to be forced into a "one-size-fits-all" model. It needs a space that recognizes the logic in your scatteredness.

Ready to trade the exhaustion of performing for the clarity of being truly seen?

I provide 100% virtual, neuro-affirming somatic therapy for adults across Minnesota who are ready to move from a place of chronic, exhausting masking into a life of embodied, values-aligned peace.

About the Clinical Approach

My practice is grounded in a "bottom-up" approach to healing, meaning we prioritize the nervous system's physical signals over purely cognitive or "talk-based" analysis. I utilize a blend of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you explore your internal landscape. This is a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming space where we move at the speed of your capacity. We do not pathologize the way your mind processes; instead, we integrate your values, spirituality, and somatic wisdom to help you cultivate a life that feels authentic, sustainable, and deeply connected to your internal truth.
